A man suffered horrific injuries to his face in an accident involving a chainsaw at a Shropshire farm.
David Fox was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham at 12.30pm yesterday.
The accident happened at South Eudon Farm, Eudon George, near Bridgnorth.
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman Daphne Lewis said Mr Fox, who is in his 30s, had suffered serious injuries to his face.
She said: “West Midlands Ambulance Service received a call just before 12.30pm to a farm at Eudon George, near Bridgnorth.
“The ambulance from Bridgnorth, along with an officer and the county air ambulance immediately responded and the man was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital with severe facial and eye injuries.”
Mr Fox’s family said today he was recovering in hospital.
His brother Nick said: “We have just been told it is not life-threatening. He was working on the farm when it happened.”
Robert Pugh, of Bridgnorth, said Mr Fox was a well-known farmer in the area.
“David is a lovely man, someone who you would be proud to call a friend,” he said.
“We used to go to Brown Clee Young Farmers together.”
Derek Pugh, who farms nearby and is chairman of Morville Countryside Club, said everyone in the area wished Mr Fox well.
“I hope it isn’t too bad and we wish him all the best,” he said.
People living nearby said they had noticed the emergency services yesterday afternoon but were not aware of what had happened.
