Shropshire’s Dan Kirby has taken the first step towards earning a call-up for England’s under-16 rugby set-up.
The Bridgnorth Endowed pupil has been selected in the Midlands squad for the first divisional festival of the season which gets underway in Wolverhampton tomorrow.
Kirby will help lead the Midlands’ bid against the the North at 2.15pm tomorrow before a clash with the South West at 10am on Sunday.
The festival’s other matches sees London & SE meet the South West at 12.45pm tomorrow, with the North taking on London & SE in the concluding match at 11.30am on Sunday.
All matches wil be held at Castlecroft in Wolverhampton and form an important stage in the selection process for the England under 16 squad.
