Bridgnorth’s High Street will have a another empty shop after one more business decided to leave the town due to spiralling rent costs.
Hallmark card shop, which also houses a Thornton’s chocolate department, will close at the end of this month.
Five jobs will be lost and staff said today they would be sad to leave.
A store spokeswoman said it was just too expensive to carry on.
“The rent has gone up and the rates are tremendous,” she said. “The lease expires in April and that has brought things to a head.
“The shop has been here for 15 years and I have been here for five years. We are disappointed but there is not a lot we can do about it.”
