It’s boom time for the Shropshire Archery Society Indoor League this winter with a record 20 teams having entered.
Mid Wales archers from Hafren Foresters and Trefeglewys are competing alongside three teams from Telford Archers and five junior teams from across Shropshire.
Division one sides include last year’s winners Telford Archers and runners up Long Mynd Archers who are battling it out for the chance to get their name on the prestigious Shropshire Star Cup.
The event is shot indoors over the five winter months - November to March - with teams of four archers shooting five dozen arrows each at targets set 20 yards away.
An archer can achieve a maximum score of 600, and Martin Evans - shooting for Newport-based Audco Archers - has got off to an excellent start by scoring a near perfect 595.
