Proud day for Jessica

A Shropshire youngster was due to lead one of the teams out in a derby clash at Old Trafford today.

Jessica Fogarty, 12, of Edgerley, near Nesscliffe, will lead Manchester City on to the pitch for the big match against Manchester United.

She beat thousands of hopefuls to clinch the honour in a competition. Her dad, Sean Fogarty said: “She had to write no more than 20 words about why she should be selected.

“She is a huge Manchester City fan and is very excited about it, although a bit wary about being in front of a crowd of about 77,000 people.” Jessica is a pupil of Corbet School, Baschurch.
