Rotties are not so rotten

Rottweiller Rottweiller dogs have had a lot of bad press recently, writes our Teen Blogger Rhian. My family’s got a Rottie. We didn’t plan to buy him, it was more a case of giving him a home when he was a pup and needed one.

I don’t think he’s that big, but I grew up with our other dog, a female German Shepherd and she’s not only slightly bigger, but definitely “the boss” of the two.

Our Rottie has some funny habits. The first is finding a comfortable spot to sleep, which means
settees and beds.

The second is liking to wrap the lead around his snout and play tug while he’s being taken for a walk. I suppose this is hard to imagine unless you’ve truely experienced being round a rottweiller.

Maybe Rottweillers do tend to be dangerous, they’re certainly powerful, but at the end of the day, I think it’s all about how they’re treated and brought up.

It would be the same with any dog. It’s just that Rotties are big and they look fierce to start with.
