Every witch way you can . . .

witches.jpgChildren can find something to go bump in the night next week when Halloween happenings come to Park Hall Countryside Experience. The attraction, near Oswestry, is giving children the spine-chilling time of their lives every day until November 5.

Youngsters and grown-ups can negotiate their way through a witches den, complete with delectable rats and edible bats - all ready for the cauldron.

And organisers are warning children not to stay too long in the witch’s den . . . unless they want some sort of wacky spell to be cast upon them.

Rachel Mottram, from Park Hall, said visitors can expect a host of ghostly fun and activities: “There are lots of treats in store as people negotiate the Halloween Haunts.

“Step carefully through the Ghouls’ Graveyard, where Headless Harry watches over you and Old Sarah emerges from the ground.

“She thinks she has been buried for long enough and in the vault . . . the mummified remains are starting to decay.”

Rachel also said that if visitors are still feeling brave after Old Sarah’s antics, they can head over to the Skeleton Alley: “Dare to walk through the alley, where the remains of poor tortured souls wait around every corner.

“It is a gruesome treat for the adventurous among you.”

But if scary thrills are not your thing, then organisers have much more on offer.

Pumpkin carving will be available every day from 2pm (a small charge will be made for the pumpkin, which can be taken home).

Rachel added: “There is also storytime at 3pm for younger visitors and they can take part in the some of the stories.

Older visitors will also be well-catered for with the Turn Your Daddy into a Mummy competition.

Rachel said: “Each day staff will run this crazy activity where children can ‘mummify’ daddy by wrapping him in toilet paper.

“If daddy isn’t with you, then try mummifying your mum or even your friends or relations.”

Park Hall is also running other games, including pass the pumpkin and musical chairs, along with all the usual farm activities.

The Halloween Experience will be running each day, with admission costing £5.50 for adults and £4.50 for children and concessions.
