Powys women most faithful

orange_rose.jpgWomen in Mid Wales are among the least likely in Britain to cheat on their partners, a new survey claims. Researchers from extramarital dating website IllicitEncounters.com found women in Powys, along with those from Northern Ireland, Gwynedd, the Isle of Man and the Scottish islands, were the most faithful.

The survey found people working in trades and services, students and the retired are the least likely to cheat.

Graphic and web designers, farmers, artists and designers, hospitality and tourism workers, government workers or those involved in financial services were also unlikely to be unfaithful, the survey said.

The survey also found cheating partners in the UK spend around £557 million a year, with many couples spending up to £420 per illicit date.

The research found most couples spent between £120 and £200 on a room in a four-star hotel, with dinner and drinks costing up to a further £100.

Many budgeted about £200 for a new outfit or lingerie and up to £100 for travel costs.

One Mid Wales woman, who asked not to be named, said the reasons woman from the region were less likely to be unfaithful were laid out in the survey’s results.

“The biggest industries in Powys are farming and tourism, and we have a lot of retired people here; according to the survey people in these occupations are all unlikely to cheat,” she explained.

“Money would also be a major factor, because most of the jobs in Mid Wales aren’t highly paid and the thought of paying that much for a date would probably give people a heart attack,” she added.

The survey found men or women having or wanting an affair were most likely to come from London, the West Midlands, Essex, Hampshire, Lancashire, Surrey, Kent, West Yorkshire or Cheshire.
