An expatriate Salopian is flying in from the Far East to launch his new book in his home town of Shrewsbury. Richard Watson Todd is Shrewsbury born and bred, but now based in Thailand, and is arriving in Britain for a week-long stay during which he is launching “Much Ado About English”, which is an entertaining journey through the peculiarities, illogicalities and sheer charm of the English language.
He will be at St Alkmund’s Church on Thursday, October 26, at 7.15pm, in an event being run in conjunction with the Pengwern Bookshop. There will be a collection for the St Alkmund’s church fund.
During his visit he will be staying in Newport.
