The Shropshire Star has today forces with Telford Shopping Centre to launch a new search for a face of the future. We are looking for the region’s most promising modelling talent to help give participants a chance to bask in the limelight.
The competition which is aimed at finding the new face of Telford Shopping Centre is being launched today to help mark a week packed full of style-inspired fun.
The centre is to be dubbed the “Latest Looks Launderette” for the half-term holiday with fundraising activities, competitions and attractions for all the family.
During the week, models will be parading around stores carrying washing baskets full of must-have items and a giant washing machine will be built to collect donated items for the Severn Hospice shops.
Now to celebrate the best of Shropshire style we are hoping to find a new catwalk star to follow in the footsteps of Emma Keeble, pictured, who won a previous face of the future competition with the Shropshire Star.
Following a photoshoot featured in our Star Woman supplement, Emma was invited to meet with several London-based agencies but declined offers to concentrate on her university studies.
She was then commissioned to take part in a glamorous photoshoot for the award-winning Shropshire Magazine.
So, could you be the next Erin O’Connor? Have you got a face to launch a special campaign and the kind of personality that shines on the catwalk?
We are looking for someone who will enjoy being in the limelight and look forward to making personal appearances in the county.
This is a fun and upbeat competition and the winning qualities are character, confidence and personality and certainly not just six foot, size eight dimensions.
The Shropshire Star will be featuring the finalists of the competition in a glamorous evening wear photo shoot in December when they will get to try out some of the High Street’s most fabulous frocks. The day will also include a professional makeover.
Our final winner and the face of Telford Shopping Centre 2007 will be unveiled at a special event in January. She will also be the model used for our main fashion feature in the Shropshire Star bridal supplement in January. We will also present her with a portfolio of her pictures and there will be plenty of opportunities for public appearances.
This is potentially the first step on the ladder to a modelling career and an opportunity for our winner to show that she has what it takes to cut it on the catwalk.
A week of fashion-inspired activities at the centre next week have been themed around the Latest Looks Launderette. They will include half-term fun with free workshops for youngsters and fashion parades for parents. It is being staged to raise money for the Severn Hospice.
