Steve Wright’s Book of Factoids

by Steve Wright with Jessica Rickson

(HarperCollins, £6.99)

Rating: ***

According to my dictionary a factoid is an unreliable piece of information taken to be true because it’s in print.

However, it is clear that this is meant to be a book of interesting facts - nothing “oid” about it.

I am probably being pedantic, but am I the only person who gets irritated about such things?

Listeners to his afternoon radio show will be familiar with the format - interesting facts and trivia from around the world, mostly of the gosh-I-never-knew-that variety.

It’s a fun book to dip into with a lot of information which is genuinely interesting.
