It’s always strange coming back to work after a holiday. If a week is a long time in politics it’s an eternity in the world of news.
Since I’ve been away there have been major developments in the Shrewsbury massage parlour murders, there has been another murder investigation in Whitchurch, more UFO sightings (told you about the silly season didn’t I?), major job losses at Palethorpes and speeding police officer Mark Milton was found guilty of dangerous driving.
It’s a bit weird being away and seeing your home town flash up on CNN, as Shrewsbury did when the arrest over the massage parlour was made. It appears I’ve missed all the action, because this week has got off to quite a slow start, which is usually the way after a bank holiday.
It is frightening how little time it takes to slip back into things though. The days of sipping beers and chilling in the sun already seem like a distant memory.
And the biscuits I’ve brought back have not been appreciated at all!
